computer bits

Does this ever happen at your house???
hubby is a computer guy..and ever so often i find monitors and what i can only describe as "shells" of computers lying around. yes folks..hes "working on it". thats what he calls it. more like taking it apart piece by piece. Not that i really mind. but i just sometimes wonder??? does this happen in every home? Does everyone have a "goody bag" of computer parts just lying around waiting to be inserted or plugged in.. Do any of you just wake up one morning to find like a graveyard of technological bits strewn across your table in the midst of like at least 2 monitors. Some of which have never seen before nor will ever see again.
Ha ha.. this happens like once a month at least. Sometimes hes building a computer for someone, sometimes just fixing one, and other times... well, im not quite sure why hes taken it apart? but there it lies.
Today was a clean and organized "take apart" kinda day i guess...

Lmao, I used to when I was younger. I made the comps work in my basement. Eventually my mom got rid of all the parts but I wanted a computer so bad. I got a few to work but they were only good enough to play music cd's and nothing more.

I can comment on the flip side as I am that guy with a couple tupperware bins of computer parts in the basement. The same bin that has followed me from house to house over the last 8 years.

I can't explain it, I can only tell you that it's best to shake your head and walk away because there may not be a rational explanation behind the chaos...

Are we married to the same man? Because this sounds exactly like what my husband does. At one time, we had one laptop (mine) and a desktop (his). He soon acquired about 3 computer towers and a million computer parts.

The great thing though is that when my laptop bit the dust, we had an extra computer he built that I could use. So I can't complain too much. :)

Oh man, I've lived with that too lol. That's what happens when you date or live with computer techs. Hell, my last roommate in Chicago had a whole WALL of computers. It looked like he had taken a chunk of NORAD and stuck it in our apartment.

I actually kind of miss my techie men, as my hubby is almost anti-computer.
